Rare Parasites Attacking Gay Couples

Rare disease caused by parasites are now attacking a gay couple (gay) living with HIV. Transmission occurs through unprotected anal or oral sex.

Amebiasis, which is the amoeba Entamoeba histolytica infection is actually very rare. Usually never happens in industrialized countries, only happens in countries that have endemic amoebic substandard sanitation.

But now the assumption was changed, since the research conducted by Mrs. Chieng Ching Hung in Taiwan. Quoted from Medical News, Monday (5/31/2010), the study was a dissertation for my doctorate at the University of Antwerp.

During the time of transmission of E. histolytica occurs through contaminated water. Amoebic infection has become very dangerous when attacking the intestines and cause diarrhea. In addition, E. histolytica can also enter the bloodstream and cause abscesses in the liver.

In that study, it was revealed that not only is now transmitted through contaminated water. These diseases are also transmitted in the previous homoseksial men are HIV positive.

According to research Hung, gay men seropositive (HIV) in Taiwan more prone to infections than healthy population amoebae. Even still higher than the heterosexual seropositive.

In conclusion, Hung suspected amebiasis associated transmission through oral sex and anal sex that occurs in a gay couple. While its appearance in non-endemic industrialized countries amoeba, is the impact of globalization, which allows migration occurs more easily.

Not only against amebiasis course, Hung also confirmed that several other diseases become more deadly when combined with HIV. Including tuberculosis and hepatitis B.
